Joyful Children Outdoors

Nourishing Futures Through Lovie Lunches

At The Lovie Legacy Foundation, we strive to ensure that no child in Austin goes hungry. Our primary initiative, Lovie Lunches, provides nutritious meals to children who need them most. We believe that every meal is an opportunity for growth and connection. Join us in our mission to serve 25–50 children by 2026, fostering hope and nourishment in our community.

Lovie Lunches

Lovie Lunches is the flagship program of The Lovie Legacy Foundation, providing nutritious weekend meal support to children facing food insecurity while building stronger, healthier communities.

Weekend Meal Kits

Nutritious, kid-friendly meal kits designed to help bridge the gap between Friday lunch and Monday breakfast. Each Lovie Lunch provides healthy food, snacks, and encouragement for children facing food insecurity.

Nourishment Beyond Food

Every Lovie Lunch is about more than a meal. Our goal is to provide hope, encouragement, and a reminder that every child is valued, supported, and deserving of a brighter future.

Our Mission

The Lovie Legacy Foundation was inspired by the lives of Lawrence C. Morrissey and Mary Ann Kullak Morrissey, whose love, generosity, and commitment to family continue to shape generations.

Lawrence, affectionately known as "Pops," never met a stranger. Whether greeting a lifelong friend or someone he had just met, he had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and seen. In fact, he often called people "Lovie"—a simple expression of warmth that reflected the way he viewed the world.

He also coined a phrase that became part of our family's identity:

"It's a gift, Lovie."

To him, life was a gift. Family was a gift. Friendship was a gift. Every opportunity to help another person was a gift.

Mary Ann Kullak Morrissey shared those same values. Together, they built a family rooted in compassion, resilience, service, and love. Their example taught us that true wealth is measured not by what we accumulate, but by how we care for others.

The Lovie Legacy Foundation was created to carry that spirit forward.

Through programs that nourish children, support families, strengthen communities, and provide compassionate assistance where it is needed most, we strive to transform gratitude into action and kindness into lasting impact.

Every meal served.
Every family supported.
Every act of generosity.

It's a gift, Lovie.

And this is our way of passing that gift on.
